Chicken Gravy Recipe



✅ Ingredients:

  • 500g chicken (bone-in or boneless, cut into pieces)

  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee

  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 tomatoes (pureed or finely chopped)

  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 2 green chilies (slit, optional)

  • 1 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tbsp coriander powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves (chopped, for garnish)

  • 1 cup water (adjust as needed)


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  4. Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates from the masala (about 5-7 minutes).

  5. Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

  6. Add chicken pieces and stir to coat them with the masala. Cook for 5-7 minutes until chicken starts to brown.

  7. Pour in water, cover, and simmer on low heat for 20-25 minutes until chicken is cooked and tender.

  8. Stir in garam masala and cook for another 2 minutes.

  9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.


Serve hot with rice, roti, or naan.
