Chicken Bread Roll



Ingredients:

For the filling:

  • 300g boneless chicken (boiled and shredded or finely chopped)

  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 1 green chili (finely chopped, optional)

  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp garam masala

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder

  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tbsp oil

  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander (chopped)

  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup or chili sauce (optional, for tangy flavor)

For the rolls:

  • Bread slices (white or whole wheat)

  • 1 egg (beaten, for coating) or milk (for vegetarian version)

  • Oil for shallow frying


👨‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Prepare the filling:

  • Heat oil in a pan.

  • Add onions, garlic, and green chili; sauté until onions turn translucent.

  • Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.

  • Add shredded chicken, chili powder, garam masala, cumin, black pepper, and salt.

  • Cook for 3-4 minutes until everything is well mixed.

  • Add ketchup or chili sauce if using, then stir in chopped coriander.

  • Remove from heat and let the filling cool.

2. Prepare the bread:

  • Trim the bread edges if you want.

  • Flatten each slice gently with a rolling pin.

3. Assemble the rolls:

  • Place a spoonful of chicken filling on one end of the bread slice.

  • Roll tightly and seal the edges by brushing with beaten egg or milk.

4. Cook the rolls:

  • Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.

  • Place rolls seam side down first.

  • Fry on medium heat, turning occasionally, until golden and crispy all around.

  • Serve hot with green chutney, tomato ketchup, or mayonnaise.


💡 Tips:

  • You can add grated cheese inside for a cheesy twist.

  • For a healthier version, bake the rolls at 180°C (350°F) until crispy.

  • Use leftover chicken or shredded rotisserie chicken for convenience.
